I have known Melissa for quite some time and when she asked me if I could keep a secret, I spoke a resounding YES. She and Noah had been dating for a while so I thought I might know what it was about. We both love Michigans upper lower peninsula and I was thrilled when she said they would be eloping at this amazing new-ish place called Nature in Maple City.

The Venue: Nature - A Michigan Retreat

You guys this Venue is a photographers dream! The openness, the LIGHT! No dungeons here. It is a classic clean open space with natural wood tones everywhere. The owners were beyond helpful and gracious. If you are looking for a Venue for any event in the Maple City, Glen Arbor, Leelanau Area I highly suggest checking them out!

The Flowers: Melissa Hannapel

Yeah. That's THE BRIDE. Melissa did her own bouquet with wood flowers! It was stunning and will last forever in thier home together.

The Cake: Aunt B's Cake & Desserts

This cake was ALL the yum. It was raspberry cake with chocolate bavarian filling topped with vanilla bean butter cream. I'm drooling just thinking about it! Melissa had it made un-decorated and placed flowers that matched her bouquet upon it. It was elegant and classy and DELICIOUS!

The Good Stuff

This was an Elopement, so small was the name of the game but let me tell you, that didn't mean any less love. From sisters blasting Queen while putting on eyelashes to a family full of wet eyes during vows, this was a WARM, albeit cold, Winter Wedding. We had a blast taking pictures in the snow and Michigan provided the most beautiful backdrop. I will remember this day forever and as always am touched to be a part of two wonderful people becoming one.
